About CIOB Assist
For 30 years we have been working at the heart of CIOB to support our members and their families when they need a helping hand.
We’ve been providing financial support for our members and their dependent family members since the beginning. We teamed up with Anxiety UK in January 2020 to provide specialised support to CIOB members across the world living with anxiety, stress or anxiety-based depression. This brilliant service is available to all CIOB members and their dependent families.
In recent years we’ve faced some challenges. For some members there is still a feeling of stigma in asking for help. We want to be accessible and encourage people to overcome their pride in asking for a bit of support. So, in September 2021 we rebranded and changed our name to CIOB Assist. It’s simple and to the point and succinctly summarises what we do – we assist CIOB members and their families when they need to get back on track.
Helping members get back on their feet
For those who need support
Nobody likes to ask for help. You’ve spent years standing on your own two feet, looking after other people and getting on with things. But sometimes getting on with things can get on top of you. Maybe it’s a health problem that’s kept you off work, a family member in need, training you can’t afford, or simply the daily grind that’s ground you down. It doesn’t make us weak to say there’s something wrong. We’re all in this together and we’re here to help.
It’s simply letting someone do for you, what you’d do for them. Lending a hand, getting you back on track. That’s us. We don’t judge, we listen. And every year we support dozens of people just like you.
I am immensely grateful, I cannot tell you the difference it will make to us right now I have been very low and this has lifted me back on my feet, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Every year hundreds of members find themselves facing unexpected challenges. It can be anyone from early career starters to retirees, and as diverse as health issues to financial concerns. And without someone to turn to, their future is uncertain. Which is why we believe in the power of our community to protect our community.
